1. Climate Change in Motion – How Do Water Risks Impact the Economy?Katalin Sipos (Country Manager, WWF)

Droughts, floods, flash floods, and the importance of water retention have become everyday topics in the news. After the historic drought of 2022, many of us are anxiously looking ahead, wondering when, how, and to what extent water shortages and the accompanying damages will strike again.
This presentation will help us tune into water-related thinking, explore the economic risks associated with water, and, based on the latest report from the European Environment Agency, review the key tools and opportunities businesses have for managing water risks.

2. Potential risks of water scarcity in Hungary –  Ágnes Tahy, Senior Technical Officer (National Water Directorate General, Water Basin Management Department)

Water scarcity is a rapidly growing problem worldwide. Even in countries with adequate water resources, water scarcity is not uncommon. This can be due to many factors, such as inadequate water infrastructure and distribution systems, pollution of water resources, inadequate quality or management of water resources. Climate change and human factors increasingly contribute to the fact that society and economic actors in a region have to face the problem of water scarcity. What can be read about Hungary's water resources from the analysis of the data sets?
